The Gist

Cushy chairs, reliably good eats, and playful monthly drink specials make it an easy neighborhood spot where you’ll find locals hunkered down on laptops, catching up over smoothies, or simply savoring a warm muffin out on the patio. They’ve got a full coffee bar and solid breakfast menu featuring pastries, smoothies, and sammies with ingredients sourced from some of our fave local vendors.

Add in eclectic art (yes, that’s a giant dino skeleton on the back wall) and vintage decor, and it’s easy to see why this cozy Five Points coffeehouse has been a community mainstay for 25+ years.

The Menu

  • MOST POPULAR: The _Almond Avocado Smoothie_ with chocolate + banana is somehow healthy, despite tasting super indulgent. They’ve also got BYO _sammies_ served on Michael's English Muffins or NY Deli bagels (normally, you’d have to trudge out to N. Raleigh + wait in line to snag one of those doughy bad boys).
  • OUR FAVES: _The Chocolate Banana Vegan Muffin_ is better than any other muffin we’ve had in quite a while—vegan or otherwise. It’s great with a cup of _Cold Brew_ or steamy _Lavender Latte_.

Extra Tips

  • Set an alarm. They close at noon every day.
  • Fun fact: it’s run by the artist who made the Raleigh Acorn that drops on NYE.
  • There’s free wifi + lots of outlets if your WFH office is feeling stale.
